n the Lacrimosa, at the
end of the Dies Irae, we hear one of the most moving moments of the Requiem. Now we
arrive at the Offertory, Domine Jesu Christe: a variety of melodic and ritmic fragments
where one recognizes (slightly hidden) the Requiem-theme at the ' Quam olim Abrahae'. |
|
The Larghetto of the Hostias is a calm
and serene prayer, like a motet that ends in the recapitulation of the importunately 'Quam
Olim'. |
