Mozart is seriously ill: worn out by so much work and morally exhausted by an immense
poverty. He is concluding 'Die Zauberflöte'. Moreover, he receives a commission to
compose an opera for the festival on the occasion of the crowning of the emperor of
Austria to king of Bohemia. |

At the middle of this turbulent period
arrives a mysterious messenger with another commission: Mozart must compose a Requiem. He
immediately receives the fees requested but he may not know the identity of his mysterious
employer. |
